I recently went to Dave’s Hot Chicken in Schenectady, NY, with my friends, and it had me surprised. I was expecting nothing more than typical fast food like McDonald’s or Chick-fil-A, but when my order for Chicken Sliders with Fries came to our table with the special Dave’s sauce, I realized that this wasn’t an ordinary restaurant.
The slider was a sandwich composed of breaded chicken covered with some kinds of spices sprinkled over it, pickles, and Dave’s medium sauce poured all over. When I bit into the chicken, I felt a wave of flavor wash over me, as the medium sauce combined with the saltiness of the pickle and the sweetness of the chicken, creating a perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The fries were just as good, being soft and warm on the inside, but crunchy and sweet on the outside. As crazy as it may sound, I would rather get an order at Dave’s Hot Chicken than a highly esteemed restaurant like Gordon Ramsey’s.
Dave’s Hot Chicken provided us with fast food whose taste compared to a fancy restaurant’s meal that would take over an hour to receive. Not only that, but Dave’s also chooses to be inclusive to all kinds of people, by cooking halal-certified chicken, as well as the Dave’s Not Chicken, which is an imitation of chicken made for vegetarians, both of which are things that most restaurants wouldn’t have. Dave’s Hot Chicken is one of the best restaurants I’ve visited and should be located in every corner of the world.
