The Shenendehowa girls volleyball team has had much success in the past two years, winning a State championship in 2022, and making it to the state tournament in 2023, This year in 2024 is no different.
“It’s been a very successful year so far,” said star player and team captain Reagan Ennist. Emphasizing on the teams bounce back from last season’s disappointing end.
There are two new assistant coaches on the Volleyball team, which was a concern coming into the season.
So far, though, there had been little indication of a change in the coaching lineup at all, with the girls winning both tournaments they’ve attended so far this year.
“Yes, these coaches have had a huge effect on our success this season,” said Genny Sala, fellow captain and star player. These two new assistant coaches have brought a morale boost to the team, as well as a new outlook on this season for players.
The girls started off the season undefeated, beating reigning state championships at a tournament already this year. The recent success of the team has had fans lining up at the door. Packing the stands with avid supporters.
“The atmosphere was great and the game was electric,” said superfan Johnny Bean who attended a game against the girls’ rivals, Burnt Hills.
